My name is Beau- I am 18 years old, still in high school and about 30 credits from my BA Degree. I live in Washington state, U.S.A. in a small town. Sadly the only place to get fish at a safe distance that won't risk the fishes lives is a Wal*Mart. Although, this is one of the better Wal*Marts I've seen because the main fish section employee has had MANY years of experience with many different types of fish.
Right now I have a Euro 30gal tank to keep my oscar- I plan on upgrading to a bigger tank when I have more money and when the Oscar grows up a little- right now he's only about 3in. He is a white tiger oscar with beautiful black bottom fins and some black on the end of his rear fin (the terminology escapes me...). His name is Ghost because he only seems to come out at night or when the lights are dimmed in order to eat and terrorize (haunt) my pleco...who is blind (or very severely vision impared).
I have been a aquarium hobbyist since me and my friends first found a Giant Water Beetle that we named Ricky Ross (because he was overfed and became fat). We went to walmart for feeder fish for the beetle and couldnt resist getting an Oscar. Since then, all 4 of us have been Oscar lovers. Sadly the Water Beetle passed away after giving birth (the babies didnt survive

) at the size of about 5 inches. We've had a tank at my friend's house (next door) to house an oscar for about 5.5 months now and I just last month obtained my own tank for my birthday.
That's pretty much my story =]
