2inch oscar, 10months later, is now a 10inch oscar living in a 5 gallon tank!
just goes to prove that the begining of a love affair with oscars can be a low budget hobby.

my father and i have been serching for a while for a much larger tank for our oscar, but just have not found one that my mother approved. we have finaly found a much larger tank that our oscar can call home.

an oscar obession can take place on a low budget...... untill they turn 6 months old and explode in size and amazing colour, and it doesnt help when you feed them 'oscar grow'.

if i get this right you kept an oscar in a five gallon tank for 10 months?

firstly your fortunate that he didn't suffer from any health problems. and how could he turn aroung in that small of a tank. my ten gallon tank is only about 10" wide so i cant imagine how small a five gal would be. can you post a pic of this.

on the up side i guess water changes must have been quick 5 gal tank 10" oscar and 1 cup of water?

yeah well i changed the water every 3 days to make sure he was healthy..... he was able to turn around easily......
i removed the small plant from the tank but then he became distraught so i had to place it back in (poor thing).
