Hi I found this site while googleing and as I love my fish and my Oscar I thought I would join .

I have a 200 Gallon tank with 1 Oscar 1 chocolate chiclid and 2 green sevrums oh and one pleco he is so very young and small .
They all get along great ! the Oscar and chocolate chiclid fight some times nothing that bad just mostly chasing one another around . both are about 10" in length and 2-3" thick the green sevrums are big but mostly discus shaped . I love them all they are really fun to watch and a challenge to keep clean and happy as well .
I do not have a camera yet so sorry no pic's yet .

Thank You . so far it is a GREAT site I am loving this place so much information .
I only wish I could show my tank off to you all .
Last night I took the tank down ! yes emptied it took all the gravel out (it was a multi colored rock My wife did not like )
I changed it out with green/black combo rock . cleaned all 3 filters (haven't done any thing in 2 months !just added water to the tank as needed ) and cleaned the glass inside and out . well what a job that was ! took about 8 hours and well now it is all fine . yes I had about 25 Gallons of the old water (maybe more) that I added to the new tank water (don't want to totally have to start from square 1 LOL .

I hope your filters were not switched off for too long, or even worse let to dry out

If you have more than on filter only clean one at a time and at regular intervals

I would advise you test the water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate after such drastic measures like you have done

Yep been doing this and all is well . I only rinsed them out the substright I use was not rinsed in the 3 filters .
Things should be back to normal in about a day or 2 .

I sure am just how come it is so slow ? It take a long time for any one page to bot up . I have DSL so I know it is not mine it is just this site .
