Just now starting to get back into fish. I used to have oscars when I was in highschool, but I never really had any cash to make the best of the experience that is owning oscars.

Now that I have had the same job for 3+ years and I have some extra cash floating (pun xD) around, I was thinking its time to get some oscars and a real tank this time! I had one oscar for a year in a 10gal, I know 10gal is kinda small, but he never really got that big but he stayed happy and healthy and thats what matters.

So, on my way home from work today, Im going to stop at a thrift store to see if they have a cheap, well made dresser or something that will be big and strong enough to hold a 75gal rectangle tank. Then it's off to petco or petsmart to pick up my tank and a few accessories - A filter or two, some rocks, heater and all that good stuff to go along with that and whatever else I'll be needing to keep my fish healthy and happy.

I'm not planning on getting any fish anytime soon, I want to get everything setup the right way and the water just right so the oscar or two will be happy in there new home.

So, I just wanted to say hello that that I'll be swimming around here in these forums asking questions and helping anyone the best I can!

welcome to oscarfishlover. It's nice to see the website doing what it was intended for in the first place, helping people before they actually get the fish. I would suggest reading everything on the website, there is everything you need to know on here to help you set up a tank properly. And if that isn't enough, we are here to help you as well;)

I think Ive read this site like 5 times over now Tons of great information for both new and veteran oscar fans.
