what would be the best diet for an Oscar to live a long healthy life. I have a small Red Tiger in 75 gallon tank. I give him freeze dried shrinp and krill, and I also give him frozen bloodworms. He's about 2.5 to 3" so far. I have had him now for 5 days and he's getting along well, eating and such.
I am using 2 large hob filters and have a wand and a stone in there for some bubbliesSeveral nooks and crannies for him to hang out in.
I am also thinking about a lunar light for the tank. Are these complimentary to the fishes health or is it alot of fluff?
Thanks for your time!

The food you are feeding at the moment is extremely healthy so carry on. You could get some small cichlid pellets as well.

As far as the grasshopper goes, how often can they have this. I assume in the wild they take what they can get and their diet is varied. I'm guessing 2-3 times a week as well as everythin else, 2-3 time a week just keep it on a rotating menu. If this is not the case let me know.
I have 2 other tanks as well. 1 is a 30gal. and I have a few goldfish in there, also another 55 that is set up brackish. I have some mollies, pleco, and a spotted green puffer in it. The mollies occasionally have babies. Can I turn these over to the Oscar in the other tank?
I was also thinking about turning my 30 gallon into a feeder breeding tank. What would be the best thing to grow for the oscar? Can you grow multiple species for feeding? I'd really like to keep the feeders homegrown.
Thanks for your time.

welcome to the site Dano....
anything that oscar may take is a good thing for oscar.
just make sure to give it in rotation so that your
oscar will not become choosy. make sure to follow the
two minutes rule: give your fish whatever he/she can
consume in 2 minutes. after 3 minutes, remove all excess
foods to lessen the bioload.

your oscar will be healthy and grows fast
