Hey. i just adopted a 2 1/2 year old oscar. The previous owner saved him from starving in a friends tank. hes back to health now, but still really small. Under 6 inch SL. is he just small or a slow grower?? anything i can do??

hello welcome to the forum........the oscar if he is 2 year old is small but plenty of hikari gold and a nice big tank thats not overcrowded with good water and he WILL grow..........

oscar sometime grow slowly when:
1) kept in small tank
2) bad water conditions
3) poor feeding habbits

once given proper care and bigger tank, it will spurt
the growth and will catch-up to it real size.

I don't know if growth stunned fish can recover from their lost developmental windows. Hope you get bonded to each other and I tip my hat to you for your gesture.
