Hey all...not really new t raisin oscars been doin it since i was 10 or so im 21 now still a couple things i dont know but im lookin around n gathering info..i have a 50gal aquarium with sum 1 n a half inch albinos, n a a pond outside with ma pride n joy my black n orange tigers Spike an Bubbles, their around 10inches each spikes a bit bigger though. Their living with my 2 power house Pacu, Blade n FeFe about 15 inches. Then theres Romero a red caped goldfish tht was supposed t be lunch with the other 20 tht went in as lunch..they never ate him:huh:, n hez growing, hez been living with them for a about 7months no trouble lol...also got tonnes a large kois in another pond really pretty,,will post pics soon

thanx ppl...the pond is concrete with about 6" of fine aggregate ontop..got sum large rocks n branches mixed up in it too..with water letuuce floating on top t keep out the sunlinght as mich as possible..

i use fairy moss (azola)on mine to keep the algae down ...as its the most effective top cover of all...i have got lettuce and hyacynth also tho

I had the fairy moss already but it didnt do well keepin my oscars from jumping around n it used t get caught debris from the dead moss used t choke my filter..so when the fish got bigger i changed the lillie..but the fairy looks way better at night.lol

iv ehard afew people saying they r stuck raising goldfish with their oscars that were suppose to be lunch!! got the feeling i may be doing the same soon....my o's seem to be showing them less and less interest!!

same thing happens t me..use swordtails instead of the goldfish for a while..let the O`s work for it..then once inna while drop in a goldfish..thing is i still feed my O`s gold fish once 2 or 3 times a month..they still dont eat romero...

hahaha thats why i love oscars so much, cant predict anything, always suprising ya!
