Very infrequently do I come across a fish forum that isn't too completely full of itself. This is one of them. Kudos to Oscarfishlover for putting all this together.
My name is Matt, I'm a 27 year old Casino Supervisor and I've been keeping goldfish all my life. For the last four or five years I've been keeping Oscars (Only one though now) and honestly, it is the personality of these fish that have me keeping a heck of a lot more than goldfish now! I have four aquariums ranging from a 29gal up to my 125gal. and also a pond. The goldfish are happier out there in the yard anyway.
Why not show some pics?
My 29 gal houses the nastiest fish you'll ever meet. This is my Red Devil. Here is shown still in my 125 before he decided that he hated everything that moved. If you ever want to get one of these beauties for your Oscar tank... Don't. The camera washes out his color. he is actually a bright pink.
My 37gal is a community tank with 6 Black Tetras, a Black Moor, Blue Gourami, a sad crippled Pleco (he actually has a hair lip) and a Pim Catfish. None of these fish will sit still long enough to take a picture.
My 55gal houses my newest guys, the Africans. Along with four Clown Loaches that I've had to a year or so. I haven't quite figured out which Africans are which yet. I purchased them as "Assorted Africans". Here's a couple pics.
Then there is my 125gal. which currently houses the big boys. My two old Dempseys', My one remaining Oscar, 5 Silver Dollars, an Arowana, a Clown Knife, and a Pleco. I know that sounds like a ton of fish. But they've got plenty of room. Other than the Clown Knife. They've all pretty much stopped growing. If I can talk the GF into it. The Arowana and the Clown Knife will have pretty nice accomodations for themselves. Wish me luck there. Here's a few pics.
No knocking the Dempsey's fins! Someone had to take them, it's amazing they survived. Arowanas never stop swimming, sorry for the blurriness. Anyway, thanks for having me. Hopefully there is something I can contribute to this site.
