Hi my name is Fa'i. I'm from New Zealand and am new to not just keeping oscars but fish altogether. A mate from work gave my boy a 60L tank and we filled it with community fish for him. We put a juvenille oscar in while I waited for my 400L tank to arrive and get setup and was my first introduction to oscars and the right tankmates.  As you can guess, out of 12 community fish the pleco was the only survivor:( but you learn I guess. We have him now in the 400L tank. His name is grover, he is a tiger oscar. He has a red oscar as his mate, his name is Harry or Harriet plus the pleco and a couple of chiclids and bottom feeders floating around. This site is great for people like me who want to learn more about oscars and fishkeeping and so forth.

hello and welcome.....you will need a much bigger tank if you intend to keep both oscars and they grow fast!!!!!! i have a lot of family in NZ!!!!!

What would be the minimum size for keeping 2 Oscars??? The guy from the fish shop said it would be fine. You from NZ as well, or just got family over these ways???

i would recommend, for 2 oscars and plec, something in the range of about 120 gallons minimum. also you will need adequate filtration to go with it.
