2's company, 3's a crowd is a hot topic on many fish forums. it's quite true that if two Oscars pair off, the third one could be in for a rough time. However, if you have four Oscars and two of them pair off, you could possibly have the same problem with aggression if any of the other Oscars encroach on the Oscars breeding space. Speaking from experience, you must have a very large tank if you're going to keep more than two Oscars. This will definitely reduce aggression due to the fact they got plenty of space to themselves. Keeping big fish in small is basically asking for trouble, not only from water quality problems, but from serious aggression as well.
I have to agree.I got into o's by saving my guy from 2 others that were picking on him. He will not get to full size now. But it is something you may want to pay close attention to. my guy almost didnt make it. And with that many you will need lots and lots of room.
