Me love Oscars created the topic: Never eaten feeder

Has anyone ever had experience with an older Oscar that has never eaten feeder fish? I recently came the proud new owner of a year old oscar who has never been fed feeder fish. I drop them right infront of him and he just looks at it. Meanwhile, at the other end of the tank, my other oscar spots them and they're gobbled up before I know it lol This guy was in a tank with just a pleco his whole life. He's lazy and not competetive enough with food. My silver dollars and my other oscar eat it and he doesn't really get much of a meal. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to the site. You should never give your Oscars feeder fish. A high risk of parasite and pathogen transfer, and little to no nutritional value. Oscars diet should be varied with a quality pellet as the staple, with the odd treat of krill, chopped white meat fish, earthworm, mealworm, crickets, fruit and veg pieces.
