Hello everyone

I recently got an oscar and it is now happily living in my 30 gallon tank the question is that when i got it it was on a tank with a slightly bigger oscar which was beating it up as a result is is missing the webbing in its right pelvic fin and has a big spot that looks like a bruise on its right side. This spot now has small white spots on it. Will the fin grow back and what if anything should i do about the bruise? I will try to upload pictures but it as tricky as the little guy is highly suspicious of my phone for some reason xD

Hi there and welcome to our community.

If the fin isn't damaged too badly and the root hasn't really been undermined too much then the fins should grow back perfectly okay.

Unfortunately 30 gallons is not big enough for an adult Oscar. So you really should think about upgrading your tank ASAP before your Oscar gets too big.

I am well aware about the tank size and will probably be getting a 75 gallon this summer. The webbing on the pelvic fin is completely missing and only the two ends remain o have not seen any signs of tissue growth there but his tail which was also damaged is now almost completely healed

You'll be surprised how quickly these things heal. The fins and effects are very delicate and can get easily damaged.
