we just bought a used tank and it came wiht a oscar and we don't know what to do with it. We're watching ph and received dirty gravel & some of the old tank water. We would love to get any advice on how to keep this guy healthy and happy

now if you could us a few specifics on your current setup such as tank size filtration tankmates ect.. it would help us in helping you. also could you tell us if you have any testing equipment for ammonia nitrites and nitrates.


also if when you answer these questions if you could make a new thread in the appropriate section this will help in making sure you get the right answers for your situation. in this case you could post under the setting up an oscar tank heading.

I'm sure if you post the information on tank size, filtration etc that you will be bombarded with great advice.
I've learnt heaps of valuable information, just by reading and absorbing.
As far as my novice advice is concerned, size really does mater when filters are concerned(litres per hour).
I'm sure that if you can get through the first few weeks of your new friends settling in, that you will be drawn into the wonderful world of the Oscar.
