hi.. i love this site, lots of great info.. it took me a day or so to read everything i could.

a friend of mine that works at a pet store got me hooked on fish ( and even more so on oscars), so i got a few tanks,55 gal.and two 20 gal tanks and set them up...for the past few weeks ive been spending all my free time ( and some work time ) reading and learning as much as i can...
a few days ago i went and got a tiger oscar and a red oscar, along with some clown loaches and jack dempseys.

i am usualy a pretty hyper n stressed out kind of guy who cant sit still.. since i got the fish i find myself sitting near the tank eyeballing them for hrs and feeling very relaxed lol..

now if i can just do them justice and keep them all alive and healthy.. i know i probly should have started out with an easyer fish to care for but mmm well too late for that i allready jumped in with both feet and hope to do well and see them grow to be big old happy fish...

Yes, very true about the relaxing effect of watching fish. Although, at times I find myself throwing the arms up and yelling at them.

Um you know that none of your tanks will be big enough to house all of them at adult size? Or did you get several 55 gal? However, if they are still babies there is some time left for saving up for a bigger tank Clown loaches grow slow but the Oscars will make the 55 gal look small in no time.

The 55 gal tanks are just to start things off,and the fish are still very small i am allready working on looking for much larger tanks..

I am still very new to this too so i would like to learn as much as i can befor going too nuts.. but i know i only have so much time for they will get much larger

It will probly take a little time befor i find one ( or more)tanks that catch my eye.. my only real problem is the space where i live and making the most of it but im sure i will work it out ( gets rid of pc, book shelfs,tv,girlfriend etc etc lol joking..

Sounds familiar about space in the house, I'm about to end up with parrots in the bedroom or so because I need their space for a new tank. I can tell you from experience that you should keep the PC (so you have access to the forum of course) and possibly the girlfriend, but you can get rid of books and tv

I know that feeling of running out of space ive just completed building a shelf in my double garage to house a 500 liter tank.

Dont get carried away like i did ive currently got 6 fish tanks in total in my house and needed to move the boat outside to make more space,next move will be the wifes car outside.lol
