I'm responding to Penn's post about introductions. I've been a member of OFL for over a month now - I've learned alot and have received very helpful advice and help. I've never formally introduced myself.

I live in a residential community near Seattle, Washington and work for a software company. My first (and current) tank - a 55 gal freshwater was setup about 12 years ago. I just ordered a 135 and am in the process of planning the migration and setup. I have 2 baby red Oscars, one 12-year old clown loach, one clown pleco, a baby severum and a lone silver dollar. I'm hoping to get another clown loach in a few months and re-home the lone SD.

Besides the fish, I live with my husband and two dogs (Rhodesian Ridgebacks) - they're my only kids. I enjoy motorcycles and horseback riding - my current ride is a '07 Harley Davidson Dyna low-rider.

I'm also on facebook:

Yes, I've seen you around quite a bit so welcome to our community. Well, you keep yourself busy with all your hobbies, a little bit like me as well, never stuck for something to do I've heard about your species of dog but I've never actually met anyone who's got one, didn't they use them for hunting lions or something along similar lines, I could be thinking of a completely different dog so forgive me if I'm completely wrong

Ok I cant remember if I introduced myself either so here is a little bit about me:

I live in Canberra, Australia and work as a lawyer/ attorney for a large multinational law firm. I am relatively new to the hobby, but have become really involved in the DIY and filtration side of the hobby (my particular interest is in sump and nitrate reduction systems.

I currently have two tanks. My main 6'x2'x2' tank you can see here:

www.oscarfishlover.com/oscar-fish-advice...es-completed-project

I started with just the bare tank and open stand and have made everything for it myself (from the filtration system to the cabinet and hood).

My tank is currently seriously overstocked (until I get my new 5' tank setup that I am curently working on). I need to do 2 x 250 water changes a week to keep my water at optimum levels. Fish:

- 4 x Oscars (two large and two babies)
- 2 x Jack Dempsey
- 1 x Blue Acara
- 1 x Green Sev
- 1 x gold sev
- 1 x Black ghost knife
- 1 x chinese algae eater
- 1 x pelco

Besides my fish, I currently live with my girlfirend (the only thing stopping my house from turning into an aquarium), and enjoy competitive computer gaming (play in a top 10 team in Oz).
New to the whole Oscars thing..
Setup:
4' x 2' x 2' Tank with 100L Sump filtration

You are correct! Rhodesian Ridgebacks were used for hunting lions (a long time ago). Now they are more comfortable hanging out on the couch and growling at an occasional lion on the Discovery channel:)

Here are some photos... Elsa (female) - she's now 8

And Wilson, male - he's almost 2.
