I just realized a 30 year dream. I always wanted an Oscar since being captivated by one we had in science class way back in high school so long ago. I'm a paraplegic and due to lingering health problems find myself spending more and more time home bound. I finally decided to try my hand at an aquarium and setup a community tank which is fun but I really wanted an Oscar. So now I am the proud owner of a 84 gallon half hex tank with a beautiful Tiger Oscar, a Pleco and a Pictus catfish. Not sure he's a Tiger Oscar though as he's mostly orange with blackish dots, hybred maybe? He really stood out in the tank with about 20 other Tiger Oscars, none of the others looked anything like he does.
I'm glad I found this site! I will be reading everything I can on Oscars.
