I just wanted to say hello and introduce my self. My name is Jessica. My husband and I have been huge fans of O's and other cichlids for quite some time now. I have had fish aquariums my whole life. My husband has always had cichlids when he was a kid. I myself have never really gotten into the cichlids. And never gotten an Oscar because my mom always told me that thye are mean and I really didn't want one. Yes I Did! I now realize why she said that, she just didn't want to get one for me.. They are awesome fish.. very beautiful creatures. Apon browseing the internet, to get all the info and research I could before I purchase any cichlid, I came across this very helpful and informative site. I need all the help I can get. When we got purchased our little guys, about a week ago, my husband and I were just informed that He will be going over seas.. My husband is in the Military.
Now like I said he has had cichlids before. But I never had. We got a couple of monthes yet so I better learn all I can before he leaves. I just recently purchaced a 1.5" baby O with 2 JD's of the same size and an FH as well. And yes I read that you can't really put an O with an FH but I thought maybe we could try it. See if they grow up together getting along. we'll see. I will remove one of the two if things get out of hand. But for now everythings peacful.
