Hi everyone, I just found this site and I'm impressed. Lots of great information. I am new to Oscars and I have a young (about a month old) one in a 200litre tank with a silver Dollar and pleco. I live in australia so I'm sorry to all those who work in gallons. I did read though that Clown Loaches can be put with Oscars but only in groups of four. Has anyone got experience with this? I have 2 loaches in another tank which is a little over crowded.

hello and welcome, I have 5 clowns. i had 2 together then added the other 3 at a later date. the 5 are more active now they are in numbers

i haven't kept clown loaches with oscars, but have read they are good tankmates for Os. since they are bottom feeders it will be easier for tanks maintenance too
but your tank is just enough for 1 Oscar, so its not wise to add any more fish, in fact you might have to remove your pleco and SD when the oscar reaches 6-7 inches

Clown Loach are really fantastic Fish, I absolutely adore them. They can live quite happily with Oscars as long as they are big enough and you keep them in groups. However, they cannot tolerate any ammonia whatsoever so you should only ever keep them with Oscars if you have got plenty of room and you can maintain your water conditions.
