I'd like to hear more about your guppy breeding - is it pretty easy? the parents really eat their young so two tanks are needed?
Breeding guppies are extremely difficult...just add water
All livebearers (guppy, molly, swordtail, etc) eat their fry...fish in general are opportunistic feeders anyway aren't they? You dont need two tanks per say...then again...you dont need two cars either, but its nice to have a normal car and your weekend car. Same with tanks I guess...i'd rather have more than less...
As for breeding guppies...get yourself a guppy breeding trap
I usually buy myself a pair of knee high stockings (no, i'm not a cross dresser, lol), cut of the end...and put it over the bottom as some of the fry are so small they fall through the drilled holes in the trap. Remove the mother and "trap door" after she's given birth.
Thankfully the fry can take fine flake food immediately. After a few days release them into the tank...they grow fast and will be big enough not to be eaten by their parents in a few days.
Hope that helped
