a previous thread mentioned a online shop selling oscars red pigeon blood. I emailed the company and they sent me a pic. They did say the pic looked a little yellow


These look to me like they are red albinos, the colour of the pic make them look unusual and different

im not sure how true it is but i was told they inject them with dye.....i have seen these for sale heaps off times and all the ones friends have bought never live long....when i was younger and didnt know to much about them i bought an oscar that was called a hopping oscar (from a pet shop not an aquarium shop),very pretty looked like an albino but instead of orange he had a pink sheen to him needless to say he only lived for 2 weeks ,i have also seen the black oscars in the pigeon blood aswell and again when i knew people who bought them they didnt live long,i found that the oscars they say are pigeon blood in the pet shops are alot more brighter in colour than the red oscars....but i have never seen a fully grown pigeon blood oscar.....

Never heard of a red pigeon blood oscar. They very well could be dyed. It's a terrible practice done in the name of profits.

they look like rd albinos to me that bright red will fade as they get older.

my red albino looked like that when i got him now he has faded and his bottom lip is growing scew.

he is 6inches now

A bigger pic would help- looks like they are either dyed or feed a VERY high protein diet.

Thats the pic i was sent in an email so cant get a larger one, as i said i think they are red albinos. I think the picture has been adjusted to make them look brighter
