OK... here are some pics... it has been over 3 weeks... temp staying at 84... stopped treatments. Other fish are fine:

Red.. no markings

Jack.. no markings

Opie.. stupid white little spots on his fins only

These are the best I can do.. the little guys fins move like crazy. I can't find any other spots on him. He is very active and VERY HUNGRY as he should be. I don't think it is Ick.. what else?? No attack marks on him, no missing fins and the tank is a happy tank with no fighting.

Thoughts... lots of them please !!!

I wonder if they are little fungal spots that fish sometimes develop but don't cause any problems? Quite often my fish get them and they disappear after a while

keep a close eye on it brooksie that's all you can do.
If he is feeding and acting like normal then the fish is happy. You will soon notice if its effecting the fishes over all health as it tends to effect the way they behave quite dramaticly xx .... I hope it clears up and its nothing to worry about.

B, you worry too much! I have an O with white spots on his fins just like yours. They have ALWAYS been there... They never move, and they never go away... He is 14 in MONSTER and he is fine. I wouldn't worry Hun!

i remember my red had something like this, only did the spots come up at the end of the finspines, but still in the fin.
They resembled tiny airbubbles, and they just came and went.
No further signs of illnesses, and i didn't change anything to make it go away...

Thanks all.... so what about putting aquarium salt in the tank? LFS (lame fish store) recommended that.

OFL.... if its fungal do I need to treat?

I'm pretty sure the fish is fine... he ate 5 feeders today. Now he is moving rocks around because I decided to give him something to do and un-did the rock moving he did yesterday !

if it were ick, which i doubt now, some salt could help, but i'd not put it in just now.

I am breeding my own feeders so that I know they are safe. They get them once or twice a month and that is it. Feeders are fine in moderation. But thanks...

No aquarium salt! That is why I post here and don't listen to LFS !!!

Theres nothing wrong with using feeders its all down to the preference of yourself.

I will be using feeders for the simple fact its live and they enjoy eating them.
I would say however they should be fed very occasionally on them.
