The more you obtain and utilize in your tank the better your title becomes. For example, I have 7 so I am an 'Expert Boarder,' while someone like JamieM, for example, has 13 so he is a 'Gold Boarder,' which is higher up....although technically he should be at 'Platinum Boarder' which is even higher with the amount of bubblers he has but I think he's Scottish so he automatically loses 2 rank points from the get go. Any Eastern European, Aussie, Scot, Irish, or canadian automatically starts off at -2 if they haven't changed the rank points system from the last time I checked. Most everyone else starts off at zero but a few rare instances like being from Chad, Djibouti, or Lichtenstein automatically starts you out at +2, even without any bubblers yet.

The number of treasurechests and divers is just part of your status.

Like albinotiger said, your postcount will make your status change every several hundred of posts.
It will take you from user status to eventually platinum boarder.
Like Johnny explained the Moderator status is not a rank, but a privilege and you can only be asked to help run the site as moderator by the Boss after contributing to the site in a positive way for some time, and when the need rises for a new mod.
As the site keep growing, eventually more moderators will be needed to keep this site running.

and i 'd like to add, that the number of posts, does not actually display how much spare time someone has.
Wish it were that way, i'd have tons of spare time.
But the fact is, that posting and moderating can be done, at the same time, while raising kids, having fun with your animals, housekeeping etc.

All of the moderators have tons of information in their heads to share with you. OFL the boss, needs moderators because he can't sit and answer every single post that comes through here. Not to mention the fact that everyone has had experience in different things. As an example, Noddy is the pleco expert... other moderators are not pleco fans. Therefore most of my pleco help comes from Noddy.

For a site like this to be useful, there must be multiple experts helping. If you only want OFL to answer your posts, then you should email him and not post. No offense to OFL but you would be missing out on a lot of useful information from the moderators and the other site members.

And just because I have over 900 posts does not make me a person sitting around doing nothing all day... it means I post with questions and try to help other people with my experiences.

first of all, people had many post because they had been here for a long time....
moderators are being invited whenever there is a need... moderators
and good members could be both good advisers and can give the same good advises
whenever needed by the community.... and Brooksie is right, if you want OFL to
give you personal advises, you should have sent him an email or PM for personal
advises....

nevertheless, enjoy the community and interact with the members...

I don't think I can really explain any better than the others. You are a junior border because of the amount of posts you have made. Off the top of my head I can't remember how many posts you've got to make to be a certain rank. I think yours will change at two or 300, then again at 500, and then at 1000. However, administrators and moderators have been invited to take up the position, you don't automatically become a moderator or an administrator once you've made so many posts, this is a very privileged position to be in and it is only offered to people who we think has put the effort, time and dedication to keep the site running. All of our moderators and administrators have been here for quite a few years and I don't think there is a day that goes by when I don't see one of them on the board, that is what I call dedication.
