Matt, you're not making them more nutritious for the oscar, and, no offense, I have some doubts as to your ability in 'quarantining' them properly at this stage.

You're having enough problems with the 4 fish plus oscar in a 50 gallon with a temperature you had to 'bring down' to 82 degrees and a nitrate reading over 80...focus on that. Why even bother with feeders right now...your priorities seem to be waay out of whack if that's your big fishkeeping 'issue' of the day. IMO all your energies should be utilized towards keeping your oscars healthy and alive('cause living oscars are kinda what we're shooting for here), Not setting up a 'feeder' tank.

That being said, as to watching them get 'destroyed' (oh, joy), I just hope as you mature as a fishkeeper you'll grow out of that stage, and won't end up like those idiots on youtube feeding them live pinkies or big goldfish simply to get their 'jollies' out watching it.

Then you wouldn't be 'quarantining them,' would you...

Are you saying quarantining them, then whacking them before feeding?

Why go to all that trouble of establishing a feeder tank to feed them dead fish when you can buy frozen marine fish that are disease free and much healthier at the store.

Matt, forget about the feeders, just drop it.

Did you redo those liquid tests for nitrate?
Did you do an ammonia test?
Did you do a water change?
Did you figure out what you're gonna do about your massive overstocking problem?
Did you get that memo about using coversheets on your TPS reports?
