TOPIC: Strange behavior and eating habits

Strange behavior and eating habits 1 year, 9 months ago #106305

Hello all! My oscar has been acting strange lately. He's taken to picking up rocks in his mouth and putting them in the corner. He's made a small hole all the way to the glass at the bottem and he likes to sit in it. He also gets very defensive if i go near it. He also has dimmed way down on his eating habits. I usually feed him whenever he's hungry. Normally it's 3-4 times a day, but not it's only 1-2 times a day. Does anyone know what's wrong?

This would be typical signs of breeding if you were to have a couple of Oscars. However, the way I see it is if you are keeping one Oscar on its own in captivity then it has no chance to find a mate, therefore when it's becomes fruity, i.e. sexually mature/wants to breed, it will act out the same behavior as if it had a mate. That is my theory anyway
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved
