hey was just wondering if anyone know's if a purple oscar with yellow patterns is rare.... just abit curious to find out as have never seen one the likes of him before and want to know more about him....

Also if people can tell us about there likes and dislikes would also be great

That fish sounds like its been died or tattooed which if so makes the fish unhealthy if it dosent look natural it probly isnt if this is a died or tattood fish i feel sorry for that poor creature.

Most often any odd color on an Oscar is dyed... they are either soaked in dyed water, or injected with dye.. Both cases are VERY hard and cruel on a fish!

got him from the pet shop hes about 3 inches healthy as and it looks natural he changed color when we moved him from tank to tank went sort of greenish and by no means did i do this to him myself. thanks for the reply

i have a oscar that i have just bought, as you can see by my profile picture he has disticnt markings, but from his head to his tail, he is lilac in color and stands out. Was just wondering if this is a rare color because it certainly dosn't look un-natural in anyway and he is healthy as and full of life

Unfortunately I can't really tell from your avatar. Also, the faith is you have uploaded into your photos album are so bad, you just can't really make out anything. However, it looks little bit like a juvenile red Oscar to me. If you have got a macro close up setting on your camera then use that, you should be able to get some clearer photos
