x2, for example here's my tiger in the QT tank:

here's him after introduction into the red's territory:

totally grey as you can see.

But nowadays he looks like this:

all completely normal, and it's mostly a mood thing with my oscars.

Oscars changing color are a regular occurrence that you shouldn't worry about.

Usually they will either 'darken' at times or 'wash out,' becoming lighter or grayer. The only time you need be concerned is if they all of a sudden start turning jet black from the tail to the midsection, but this is fairly rare.

Ohw, Reengragon, i made a mess.
I replaced your originsal question with my reply.
Can you forgive me?
I should be in bed, instead of posting, i guess.
Your question was if the grey discolouration on your oscar was normal.
You are feeding Hikari Gold pellets with colour enhancer.
he has shown no signs of improvement or sickness.

the x2 was for Johnny's reply.
Nothing to worry about.

i did a little experiment with my red before he had the tiger as tankmate.
I took a mirror and held it in front of the tank, showing my red's reflection to himself.
He turned grey/pale within a second, but kept his guard up the days after the experiment, so that was a once in a lifetime experiment.
Any moodchange an cause the o to change, allthough when they are pleased and happy they usually display the darker colours.

true dat,i got some extra buttons as a mod and i was trying to edit the split post back together, but got distracted by Johnnys quick reply.
So i accidentally pasted over the original question...

You can bet this moderator will get some spanking from the Boss or Nicki-sue, for messing up.
