I recently bought a 2 yr old male Oscar that was raised in a tank with 2 pacu's.(all about 8-10 inches) he is a very peaceful Oscar and is very sweet with my Jack Dempsy which only a mere 5 inches but i think he is missing his tank mates. I have had him for 4 days now and he won't eat and just stays in one corner of the tank.Any advice would be very much appreciated???

He is not sad. When an oscar is put in a new home they often 'sulk' and dont eat for a few days, up to a couple of weeks. Your oscar will soon settle in and start acting normally

Test the water for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates every couple of days for a couple of weeks just to be sure your water quality is good

delboy is so right.
When i got my tiger he was skittish, sulking, not moving around.
He was eating though.
But after the quarantine tank period, he came around real quickly.
At first he'd still hide if i'd open the tanklid, which i can understand when you're netted twice within some weeks, but now, some months later he eats out of my hand and i can pat him, when he's full.
I even have to move him out of the way by hand during feeding time to make sure i can handfeed my gar, without the tiger grabbing the fish meant for the gar...

Give him some time.
He'll feel at home in no time!

Yea what they both said!

I had the same experience when I rehomed one of my Jacks. My Oscars sulked for 8 days ... and wouldn't eat. Then I woke up one morning and he was doing the food dance! Just keep trying to feed him, he'll come around!
