I have just moved my oscar to a different tank, he does not seem as happy in this one as the other, he just kinds of stay in one corner and hides, doesn't seem to want to eat either, at first he would do his dance open mouth wide & attact the sides of the tank. This is the first oscar I have had, and just worry about him stressing out. How long should I wait until I think about moving back into other tank?????

Give him a couple days to settle in... They are BIG BABIES when it comes to change...

Did you cycle the new tank?

BTW, Welcome!

Welcome to the site. A little patience goes a long way. Oscars are resilient, give it a chance to bounce back. good luck.

Oh no I did not cycle the tank, but did have it up and running for about a week before I moved him. Did put in aquasafe to neutralize chlorine. I guess I just need to give it alittle time.

welcome to the site
since you haven't cycled the tank, keep eye on water conditions.

Welcome to OFL.
If the tank is not cycled, you should start testing your waterparameters.
Frequent waterchanges will be needed to cope with the fish excrement.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
