Hi I'm minding an oscar for 2 years (18 months in) and for a week now he's been sick (the odd revival)but otherwise lying on his side and not doing much else. He looks like he's had a stroke???? I've tested all the water levels down at the local vet - all good, oxygen levels - all good, am putting in a broad spectrum medicene but no change. Any advice???? Thanks.

Hi Sorry I don't have all of the levels as the local vet shop did them and I don't have all the test kits here to repeat - suffice to say they were all apparently okay except for the KH level? I'm adding KH powder to fix this and treating with Pimafix also. Tank size is 200L. Photo posted for you.
Thanks Heaps. T.

That fish looks in a really bad way. Difficult to say but it might have HITH. What do others think. However i am not sure this is the cause of your problems. Can you get the water re tested and ask for the actual readings because sometimes shops will tell you your water is fine when it isnt. Some have a much looser definition of what is good

I would do 50% water change daily and add an anti bacterial. I have to say that i dont think it looks good for your fish, however oscars can and do surprise people and pull thro so dont give up. Do you know how old the fish is as it might just be old age. Good luck
