Ok iv had my Oscar pair for over 2 months now.

One tiger...
One albino...

Is it normal to be seeing a small amount of lip locking and the odd dash around the tank between these two?
The tiger is a fair bit bigger than the albino now but 99% of the time they are fine together...even swimming around the tank together....I just dont get it.

The albino has plenty of cover to go to if things get heated but he never seems to want to hide and defends himself well...

I have been dreading aggression between these two and I think the shit will hit the fan soon....gutted.

Yes, this is totally normal. You have got to remember that we are forcing these fish to live together so they will probably behave in an unnatural way. When you put these fish in a small environment together, the chance of aggression greatly increases. Telling the difference between aggression and breeding ritual can be difficult at first. At some stage you will know whether or not they will be able to live together in harmony.

for almost 6 months, my 3 adult os keep on liplocking...
no harm done yet, thus, i just leave them as is...

just keep an eye on them...if scrape is too much to bear,
you need to do something to stop it.... but as long as they
are not injured yet... leave them alone...

It's not likely that they are showing signs of pairing..

I would put my money on a dominance thing.. I have 4 O's in 2 tanks. The bigger set I rescued and they had lived together their entire lives. They were about 8 and 10 inches when I got them. They were fine towards each other. And then one day the smaller one turned on the bigger one! I am talking a MAJOR ass kicking that lasted a couple weeks.

I let them be and they sorted it... The bigger one healed, and they are still together today.

Only you can know when enough is enough... If you see severe damage, or major aggression, then you will have to decide when to separate...

Here is a pic of the damage to my now 14 inch baby!

Thanks for your replys guys.
There is no damage yet both fish are still happy as larry. I think your right nicki definitely.

My problem is the albino is lagging behind in growth a little. Hence the tiger is thinking "yeah your my bitch now" LOL

If there is no damage i wouldnt worry about it. As for the one growing faster than the other, again dont worry thats normal
