I have two Red tiger Oscars around 4 inchs and moved them into a new larger tank around two weeks ago. They seam happy when light is off but as soon as i turn light on they both go to bottom of tank and sulk nd dont even like coming up for food.i was thinking about geting some live food to feed when light is on so they associate light with something they love. Any other thoughts??

first of all, welcome on board!

with your question, give them time and they will come out in the open.
sulking maybe due to moving from smaller tank to a big one....

What type and wattage lght are you using?

They generally prefer dimmer light, although since they are new to the tank most likely they will adjust with time. I try and 'backlight' the tank, so the light isn't fully shining down.

thanks, the lightings not huge, just 1 x T5 4 foot tube. I'll give it a few days and hopefully they will forgive me for the move and be back to normal.

hey there, the move is probably the thing that upset them most, and they'll get by that in no time.
I created a corner on one side of the tank, were i put some fake hanging plants.
Plus i do not clean off all algae from the lids in that corner.
My o used to hide in that corner when he was smaller, together with the Silver Dollars.
Later on my Gar took that spot as his permanent resting place and he seems to like the dim spot.
I only use 1 t5 TLtube too, and it's more than enough for me.
I only put on the second light, when taking pictures of my fish.

Here's a pic i looked up for you, it's the dim corner i described and all my fish are sulking there, because i was doing maintenance.

Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Does sound like they are sulking. Hunger will soon get them acting normally soon

I am assuming you cycled the new tank!
