So today, I decided I wanted to mix it up a little.
Every day it's the same grind in my tank:
krill + blood worms + brine shrimp + pellets = rut
While that is extremely varied, it's the same thing every day. So this morning, it was krill + blood worms + brine shrimp + blueberries = YUM YUM YUM
The 4 big guys in my tank all loved the blue berries. Even the blood parrot got to eat some. So... this leads to new questions:
What can I feed my guys that is healthy and will mix it up for them? The tore the blueberries up somethin fierce. I did get some zucchini squash to cut up for the pleco at night to change it up for him. I'd like to either not feed them meat every day, or feed them something with the meet.
The larger blueberries seem to be about the max size of an item that oscars can put in their mouth right now. If I find larger fruits and veggies, I may have to cut them up first.
Will a bag of mixed frozen veggies do them some good? Peas?
I am not excited about getting lots of different food ideas.

Peas
Corn
Carrots (cooked)
Broccoli
Apples
Grapes
Banana
Pineapple
Mango
Shrimp
Worms
Water Chestnuts
All of these I have fed to my Oscars and they have eaten... Most of them they like, grapes not so much... But they eat the rest of it.. I stay away from things that are full of Starch, things that will make people gassy, and things like Tomatoes and Oranges as they are full of Acid..
Hope this helps

Now, I am getting hungry
I think I want to try a mixed bag of frozen veggies too.
You think I should thaw them out first, or let them eat frozen? If they are crunchy, I wonder if they will eat more
Cheers,
Joshua

and there's at least one definate NO_NO, and that's kiwi fruit.
Plecos do love that stuff, and O's may like them too, but it covers your whole tank in a sticky green goo, that is hard to remove and looks very bad.
