So my os are settling into there new 55 gal tank I gave them some feeder guppies yester day they devoured them my albino is almost to the point where he will eat out of my hand but right before he does he second guesses himself it's so funny I spend hours watching them in the evening since I got nothing better to do they greet me in the morning with the "hungry" dance iv heard so much about they even realize the red container the food is kept in I they are really showing there personalities and I love it I don't have my tank set the way I want it yet but I do have the black sand and a large piece of drift wood set up and Also a slate cave for hiding in I do not have a light or hood I know I know I need a hood I can't wait to get the tank completely set up any neat ideas for a set up? And any fun of kool experiNce do y'all have that you can share? I love these fish there better than any dog iv ever had except my amstaff jazzy of course

I prefer wood and of rock in my tank, I think it looks quite authentic. As the Oscars gets bigger, you will realise that keeping any tank mice and tidy will be very difficult. They will be for ever taking in the substrate, leaving great big pits. Given half a chance, they will move any of your ornaments around and have a go at anything that is in the tank, including heaters. You must make sure that you use a robust heaters, my Oscars take great pleasure in rattling the heaters against the side of the tank, if they were cheap rubbish ones, they would have broken them by now.
