post the funny/weird/cool things your oscars do! for instance, my oscar Jaqeas knows when it's feeding time. when i put my hand over the tank to drop my hand in, all the other oscars and fish rush around- and he happily shoves them aside trying his best to get the foods:lol:

One of my albino oscars seems to sleep on its side at the top of the water. I turned the room light on this morning and saw that it was floating on top of the water sideways. I thought for sure I had a casuality because i've never seen that before unless a fish is dead. I walked over to the tank where it was floating and tapped on the glass a little still nothing but by this time I could see that it was breathing alright, so I reached in and touched its side. I don't know if I scared him as much as he scared me but it just instantly came alive and took off to the other side of the tank while splashing water in my face. Everything was fine the rest of the day. I even tested the water just in case but everything was fine. Just very strange, and funny...

When my neighbors Oscars were younger we fed them earthworms and canadian nightcrawlers. We'd put whole worms in and each oscar would grab and end and play tug-o-war until they either got the entire worm or ripped it in half. They would shake their heads violently to try to rip it- much like a dog. Very entertaining.

Also I have seen a 6in oscar chase around a smaller 3in oscar and the little oscar would take out frustration on a 4.5in goldfish.

i spend alot of time with the measuring tape on my front glass to try and figure out the exact size of all my O's.

lately they cum and pose for me and fight to get in line with the measuring tape very odd coz they hate the camera but they cum and lie in place so i can measure them

Here is the latest Funny Thing Tiger is doing! He takes 2 or 3 gravels in his mouth and drops them at the corner of the tank, this way he dug a hole in the Gravel and made a small hill at the 2 corners of the tank!!!!!! how strange is that? does anyone have any idea why he is doing this?

Mine sleep sideways near the top too it is really weird but I guess the strangest is when my Tiger picked up rocks in his mouth and would find the pleco and spit them at him.

Jeffrey, moving rocks is normal oscar behavior. They're redecorating. Guess they don't think you were all that good at designing their homes:laugh:

OH YAY...mines not weird!! My Oshie sleeps on the far side of the tank, away from my bed on his side at the top of the water!! I thought that one day too he was for sure dead, so I poked him and he gave me the most 'hated' look!!! haha
When I'm in bed though, he will sit by my face until I go to sleep! Aww, I know he loves me!! hehe
I have been watching my O recently, and to get my attention he picks up the (whats left of my plants) in his mouth and rips them out bit by bit, brings them to me and spits them out.
He also likes scaring my dog away from me! When my dog is on my bed at night, he will swim to me, splash to get my dogs attention, and once she is looking at him, he opens his mouth as wide as it can go and swims at the glass. My dog ofcourse doesn't care much for this and turns away!!
I have found lately he likes to put gravel all over the rocks and driftwood I have in the tank. Not making a clear spot on the bottom, just messing up his room!!

hey guys today when i approached the tank to feed Tiger, he jumped out of the water and then when i threw a shrimp in the water he jumped again but couldn't catch the shrimp:laugh: ! he also bashes the heater and the filter, he is crazy but i love him:kiss: !

Jeffrey get a heater guard asap, oscars can and on many occasions have broken heaters

i have 2 tinfoil barbs in with my oscar and every night when all the lights go off in the room i can hear oscar splashing around the tank after the barbs ,dont know what there doing but it sounds entertaining
