Your staple needs to be a high quality pellet, Such as Hakari Gold... As for treats, there is a long list of Bugs and insects, fruits and veggies, shrimp, worms...

Look through the site and you will find TONS of info.

my O's diet consists of hikari gold and bloodworms every 3rd day
but every 2 weeks i give about 10 feeders

Variety is the spice of life and it seems to work for my Oscar I am currently feeding him the following:

Bloodworm
Ox Heart
Green Peas
Krill (Frozen not Freeze dried)
Ocean Nutrition (Chilid Mix)
Ocean Nutrition Super Shrimp (Hufa enriched brine shrimp)
Ocean Nutrition Formula Two (With Vitamin C and Immune Boosters)
Earthworms
Crickets
Hikari Gold

You weren't doing anything else anyway…
