Hey Guys, i have been pretty busy but just wanted to show you some pics of our new tank!!

After putting in our other cichlids we decided that we would leave Oscy and Bruce (pleco) in the Jebo so they could have their own space and because some of our cichlids are quite small so we took out the tropicals from his tank and put them all in the 6 footer and everyone was happy.

But within an hour Oscy started sulking and after 6 days of him not eating a thing we decided to add him with the others and cross our fingers!! We were worried about there being enough room and of course our smaller cichlids, but as it turns out after several weeks we still have every single fish, had 3 batches of babies and the most surprising is that Oscy seems to love the smaller fish, even letting them play in his bubbles (which he is normally protective of!!)

nice tank. looks like you are keeping your Oscar with all african cichlids. and maybe a salvini. definitely an interesting mix. thanks for sharing your pics.

nope, no salvini. they are mostly Africans. i think you might be talking about the fish in the 2nd pic on the right hand side of the screen?? not exactly sure what he is but we used him an some other fish for cycling in our first tank and he is the last one left..... he is a tropical of some kind.......... if anyone knows what he is would be good to find out hahaha

Funny to see how the oscar can tolerate smaller fish in his territory.
Mine lived with a tiny barb for some time, and he wasn't interrested in eating the small one.
He simply accepted him as a tankmate.
That was until my gar decided that the barb tasted better than it looked!

i know hey Noddy, we love it, the guy we brought the tank from threw that one and another thats behind it in for free, clearly we were VERY happy, and the fish love it!!
it is a very interesting mix, thats why we werent going to put Oscy in but he left us with no choice and everything turned out!! thank god!!
we have never fed him fish (sorry i lie, we did once and all 5 ended up as tank mates!), that might be why he doesnt see them as food and since we need to feed the other cichlids 2-3 times a day he gets HEAPS of food anyway!!
because there are so many fish we are running 2 ehiem pros and a fluval 405......... better to be over filtrated then under and it keeps them happy hahaha
