The risk of infection is much greater with live foods. are you buying them or catching them yourself?

frogs are not the best food for oscars. check the section on the home page for good foods the feed to oscar

i heard bad stories about feeding chicken giblets, so i'm not sure if it's safe to feed your oscar that food.
I do not feed my oscars any terrestrial protein.
There's such a wide variety of foods you can feed to your oscar, without causing a threat, that i think it's better not to feed any chicken.
but opinions may differ here.

Try shrimp and worms for starters...live shrimp/prawns should be easy to get and worms you can just catch yourself.They also love insects, just make sure you know the insects you put in are not poisonous.

Frogs and chicken can be fatty which is not good for the oscars liver when fed on a regular bass.

dont feed chicken or any mammal to oscars. They cant process the fats in mammals and end up getting fatty liver disease which end up in ill and dead oscars
