there was about 8 oscars, one of them beinng really big with a the biggest case of HITH i have ever seen, all in about a 15 gallo tank

they werent agrresive but they all looked sick and just huddled in the corner, i tried to get some pics with my phone, not the best but here

yeah, thats not cool.

If you don't like what you saw there. Don't ever go into a walmart and look at Oscars. I refuse to go to the fish section in that store. It almost makes you sick to your stomach.

You know I HATE to see this type of thing, it sucks.

BUT....... When the store gets these in, they are not expecting to keep them for any length of time. Maybe a week or so... Which is why they will sell to ANYONE with a 10 gallon tank. (separate rant)...

What gets me, and why I will NEVER walk into Petco again, is when they have O's that are about 1 inch long, with SEVERE HITH. On top of this, there are dead fish in just about EVERY tank in the store. The need to stop and think about how that looks to the public.

I had to downsize my Africans recently, A guy called and wanted to come and look at them, so I gave him directions. He showed up and was amazed by my Africans, but began to explain that he worked in the fish section at Petco... I immediately asked him to leave. I could NOT let my fish go with him knowing that he has learned what he knows from them...

I sure wish I could save them all!

On a simuller note I went past a lfs today to get Goomer his first livies

I asked the price 50 for $10 or 35 for $8 arhhh what the heck give me 35 off she goes out the back

What she brought back was a green bag (bag was clear) I had it up to the light to see the fish the water was that green it was not funny

She csually told me just don't put the water in catch the fish in a net and throw them in
Felt like saying I'll throw you in
I turned and said there is no way in hell I'd feed them to any fish and walked out never to return

I wonder if she would like it if I put here head in that tank

Gaz
The purpose of life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave with a well-preserved body, but rather to Slide in Sideways, completely used up, yelling and screaming, what a ride!

Yea I went into walmart to buy some food and a heater for my little guys and I can't help but look in the tanks and to my horror I saw the most beautiful albino iv ever seen dead on the bottom I so badly wish I had the room for all the others so I could rescue them it's so sad the only place around here that keeps there fish clean is feeder supply they run there tanks off of 5 diff filter systems compared to just one like walmart and the pet store it makes me sick to see these fish in that condition
