hey guys just doing my weekly water change and my 2week filter clean and
i found a neon tetra that i give to my O as a feeder in my filter ALIVE from about 3 weeks ago and
i also found snails about 500 small snails in the bottom of my filter has this ever happend to anyone or
just me ??????

lol well maybe the tetra was eating the small snails lol, this has never happend to me but ive found whole stems of plants in my canister filter.

i thought the tetra was living on bloodworms that could of been sucked up by the filter probly the snails to but he is gone now my O got him =] but the snails i have no clue there is about 500 easy in my 2ft tank can O's eat them or could i put a few in with my O to clean tank???

why does this kinda thing happen to folks who don't need snails...
Send them all over, ill give them a good home....

they usually come with some plants.
Plus they are hermaphrodites, so you only need one to enter your tank, and they can infest the whole tank.

Yes, can come in on plants or in water from lfs. Right color for apple snails but unsure of what they are for sure. I have ONE or TWO in my tanks to clean up...but not heaps...they can quickly become a pest that you don't want and even though they clean up...they do still generate their own waste which adds to your total waste...so maybe just keep a couple and either grow the others in another tank..they live in cold water too...or ditch them.....that would be what I would do anyway....

that pretty nifty i had to think i bought one polant ages ago so probly been sucked up by filter i am gunna have billiuons of em to feed to my fish can they be fed to O's ???

convicts and CL's love snails, although i seem to remember they have trouble eating trumpet snails. It doesnt look like you have trumpets snails

You can also buy snail killer but you have to do lots of extra water changes after treating to cope with all the rotting snail bodies
