I went into aquarium shop which had a good rep with me till today

In a tank prob 30 gal 3x O's (2x 6" 1x7" ) One of the 6" had paired up with the bigger O

and where giving the other 6" hell

I spoke to deaf ears

anyways I felt for the poor bugger and the brain started to work hmm how would he or she get on with goomer (close to same size) new tank should be cycled and running in 8 weeks all going to plan.

But is it too late?
am I taking to big a risk ?

cheers Gaz

ps he/she is a nice red

i fhtey r similar in size and yu r putting them into new tank if yu do
get him/her put them in at same time so one is not territorial
as they r both in at same time worth a try =]

I agree with Benno... When you put them together, put them both in the new tank at the same time. So it would be essentially neutral territory!

All you can do is try, they will feel each other out, maybe squabble over territory a bit, and get their pecking order.

As long as you, a) have a back up plan, and b) as long as there isn't any major damage, It could be a success!

That would be great but he/she will have to try share goomers 55 till the new tank has cycled still better than where it is now
Sad to say but goomer can be a sook this other one's been bullied so maybe??

Brain fart make a perspect temp division with large enough holes in it to allow flow etc
if there's any sign of trouble split the tank maybe???

plenty of room in the new home

I'd buy (I'll call her a girl easier lol) her tomorrow if the ass wipe would put her in her own tank till I pick her up but I very much doubt he would do that

HMMM Delmar's

adding a new oscar in a existing oscar tank is risky, you wont know until you try. Some oscar are very tank proud and wont tolerate a new intruder. Add the oscar and hope things turn out ok but as nickisue says have a back up plan. A divider will solve the problem temporary but if they still dont get on after it is removed then returning to the shop is one option. another tank is also a option

If you have to divide then, leave them separated for 2 weeks, then put the existing oscar into the other side. If they get on (no serious damage) for a few days you can them remove the divider. If the new one bullies the existing one then seperate them again for a week or so and then remove the divider. If either bullies badly the other then give up and accept they will never get on. Good luck
