TOPIC: homemade food

homemade food 1 year, 5 months ago #112024

So I got bored today and made some fish food. It's got beef heart, clams, squid, octopus, scallops, shrimp, cuttlefish, krill, and cichlid flakes. I'm thinking next time I'll add peas, crickets, and maybe some vitamins, any thoughts?

Good combo of food, allthough i never heard of cuttlefish as food.

I put some in last night and they ate it, then I put a little more in and they fought over it. All the fish like it except the Bichir.

are you going to process them first or give it to the oscar as is????
remove the cichlid flakes and i will be happy eating them all

to be honest, i had tried making some fish food by mixing several
good ingredients like shrimp, beefheart, cichlid booster, and green
peas. i mixed an blended them together, then add some binding ingredients
and thinly spread in a cloth and steam them together. sliced it to cube
bite size and feed to my fishes.... they love it but take more of my
time for preparation... eventually, i feed everything as is with out
processing

I put it through the meat grinder, spread it out on a cookie sheet, and put it in the freezer.

i steamed it just to bind together, less mess when feeding....
but the process get me tired and eventually stop doing it...
i just feed them "as is" one at a time...
