Two or Three...hundred perhaps??? This is just the tigers tank - 364 in there...thats about half......thanks...they are eating me out of house and home though..I have been through a whole tray of both blood worms and brine shrimp today and most of a baby brine as well. Have started snacking them on crushed Cichild flakes more and more because otherwise they will be eating more than my children!

I have a bid on another tank on ebay at the moment, finishes in an hour..I will be setting up at least another two in the garage because in about a fortnight, or less, I will be needing more space. The guy at the fish shop told me to put them in a toddler pool??!! Shazzzzzzzzzzzz

if you can arrange with the LFS distribution of fingerlings....
you can recover cost of your maintenance... eventually, you will become
an oscar distributor

words can not express the amazement when i look at all those babies.
Must be an amazing feeling to have them look back at you, and i really wish i lived closer to you.
I'd be over for coffee over and over again.

But the sheer ammount of babies has got me frightened a bit.
Now i know in my tank, most of them wouldn't survive the other fish, or even get beyond the eggs phase.
My pleco's will definately spend a lot of time, trying to get at any eggs, that's for sure.

So it's mixed feelings for me, if i look at my o's and their possible mating.
I think i better go to the LFS owner some day soon, and just ask what he could do for me, if my oscars were to have babies.
Just to hear if he'd take them in and if so, how many...
for some peace of mind, that is.

Thanks Noddy, I would be glad to have you over for coffee and a partial water change or two!! I know what you mean and the magnitude of the responsibility now that I know how many I have has hit me pretty hard. I have started a list of lfs between here and brisbane...there are quite a few..but I hope the wholesaler is interested. In the mean time, they have enough room, plenty to eat, clean water and 10 mins ago I just won another tank set up on ebay including canister filter, light, heater, stand and air pump...I'll get on to the next expansion this week. They guy over the road has his whole double garage wall to wall tanks, big sump set up...and he has a couple of Oscars. If I get desperate for room I am sure he will foster some for me... They will be well cared for..it is my full time job at the moment. Mixed blessing in a way, but I don't regret it...I still get such a buzz!

Hot Damn Shaz... LOL. They are SO cute! I hope you got the tank you were bidding on. And rather than a kiddy pool, I was thinking a big plastic tote or container. That is a LOT of Oscars!!!
