OK, here's the albinos / lutinos or mostly white tigers.......and here's the tigers - some of them are getting up to nearly 2 inches now. Four weeks old now...happy birthday to you...

Here's some really poor quality vid of them. The first one is of them last weekend where the food lasts less than a minute. The second and third is this weekend where twice as much food lasts half as long. If I let them eat for 2 minutes I would go through a coupla trays of bloodworms every feed. Enjoy the frenzy! You have to be trusted. By the people that you lie to. So that when they turn their back on you. You get the chance to stick the knife in

Pirahna does spring to mind, they do that death roll thing where they just go round and round and then all of a sudden there is nothing left.

I got a question do "white tigers" stay white? or do they gain colour as they mature?

I can only answer from my experience with the bubbas over the last month..it seems that some of the pale fish are developing darker stripes than they had a week ago and some of the dark fish are developing larger areas of white. This is their dad and you can see one stripe near his head, but he has generally large patches of dark and white.

Yes I will miss them and worry about them. Someone told me that there are people that buy oscars as feeder fish for larger fish!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! That terrifies me! And I know that when they go to the shop they won't be fed on bloodworms and they hate pellets so they will starve for awhile until they get hungry. And they will miss my three year old hand feeding them...they follow her every time she walks past the tank.

I am hanging on the next batch so that I don't have an empty nest.....mind you, I am putting quite alot of work into them. In addition to a daily 25% water change, I do a one bucket "poo vacuum" about 4 times a day. There is three filters going in one tank and four in the other but I am still getting poo spots..then there is the five times a day feeding....they are my full time job.

That would be nice......my hubby boasts proudly about his oscars but he has never done a water change! Typical bloke..

I have been here several times with Africans. I don't mind water changes!
And I have an empty 135 gallon tank!
