Tonight, for the first time ever, my overly docile oscars have decided to claim a section of my tank for themselves, together.
It just so happens to be a place where I uncovered a flat piece of slate tonight i had put in there a long time ago. I uncovered it because it was close to a very large rock Ash was trying to move anyway
Both oscars have shown extreme interest in the piece of slate so far, and Ash on a couple of occasions has shaken her touche over it.
Simple curiosity?
High hopes?
False alarm?
Interesting behaviour #2
Tonight for the first time, Ash has taken active interest in actually redecorating the tank. They have never actively pulled up what few plants I have left. The Pleco and Loaches ate most of my plants, but tonight, Ash is showing maturity. She is redecorating the tank.
No matter how you look at it, she is growing up, and I am excited!
PS I am trying to upload a video, but youtube is canceling my upload... Will upload it tomorrow.

the way they protect the slate is the good sign....
however, the presence of the two intruder may affect
the spawning plus it may trigger the mother to eat up all
eggs after laying..... the is what happen to me for my previous
pair on their first laying.... eventually, on the 4th time
there was already hatchling where the angel fish take charge...

Yep...
Thanks for the help and guidance Paul.
Patience is key, they are still young oscars.
I don't expect anything to be able to happen until the 240 is setup when where it more space. My tank for a 120 is kinda cramped for decorations. When the 240 is up, I don't plan on adding any more decorations. They should be fine with what I have now. another 6" of depth, and another 36" of length should give plenty of swimming space and make it more sparse.

when they spawned, then would net much space... they will never leave
the area around the slate......
although more water will keep you lesser workload on water change...
i just hope Sharyn will chime in...she was able to documented her
oscar's spawning.....
