Hello everyone, I am a new oscar owner and I have some questions. I just purchased a 55 gallon tank that came with an oscar that is about 8 inches long, 2 plaecos and 5 other fish that the man said the oscar will not eat. Everyone seems to be settling into my house from the move fine, but i feel like the oscar is way too big for the tank. I really enjoy him and he is very beautiful, but i feel like he would be much happier in a bigger tank. I went to the local pet store and they said they couldn't help me. I live in Connecticut; does anyone know of a pet store i can bring him to or how to find people who would like him?

First Off. Welcome to the site Brooke.

Please post a list of all the fish in your 55 gallon. If you don't know some of them... post pics of them. also post tank setup including filters, etc.

To keep the Oscar happy and healthy you will need to remove all (or almost all) of the fish except for the Oscar. or you can re home the Oscar and keep the others. Keep in mind those Plecos can produce a ton of waist, making it difficult to keep up with the water quality.

welcome on board!
i you really like the oscar, you can rehome all other fish and
keep the oscar in your 55 gal tank.... that would be a good size
for him... couple with good filtration, you will enjoy caring for
that wet water doggy...

A 55g is only really big enough for 1 oscar
