now,i have 5 mollies and for sure one is pregnant. now do oscars eat mollies,like i can feed the offspring to them after their about 2 or 3 months old. its just i have no room left in my mollie tank, im already exceded my rule of thumb for fish. i have 5 in 3 gallons. also my brothers oscars died from pet store feeder fish diseases that they had. im sure my living quarters are a lot better than the pet stores 500 in 15 gallons or whatever they do to those poor fish.so if oscars will eat mollies i could have my own feeder fish farm basicly right?

yes, I'm sure your Oscars will enjoy eating mollies. however, I've always been a little uneasy feeding community fish to Oscars. I suppose is a little bit like feeding your pet cat to a python. having said that, live food is very good for Oscars, it's what they would feed on in the wild, probably more insects than fish, but it's still something they would readily accept.

yeah today i talked to my science teacher and she would take a few but still i understand what you're sayin i feel bad for the little mollies but as i said i just have no room but for sure im not buying feeder fish. i guess i could try crickets instead small crickets should do for 3 inchers right?

I dont agree with feeding live fish to other fish. Its cruel and unnecessary. You wouldnt feed an oscar to a bigger fish so dont feed small fish to oscars. There is a large variety of foods to feed to oscars including live foods live maggots, worms, mealworms and any insects you can get.

Thats just my opinion. If you put mollies in your tank your oscar will eat them no problem. If you are going to feed live fish to your oscars best to feed tropical fish,never feed goldfish as these have the wrong type of fats in them and this will cause long term problems to your oscar especially if you do it regular
