Welcome to this site! I am pretty new like a few months in. anyway what size is your tank? mine took about a week or so to come outa there nervous state try turning off the light for the first week. depending on the size of your tank will determine your cleaning schedule. i have 2 oscars about 3 to 4 inches with a 4.5 inch jack dempsy in a 55gal tank and i clean my tank 2 times a week 1 25% and 1 50% change thats with 2 external filters on the rim.. I am waiting for my canister filter to come to hopefully eliminate one of my water changes.. anyway good luck with your new fish!! lots of good help on here you will find out.

firstly welcome to the site

your o's should become less timid in a few days.as for your water maintenance it should be dictated by your water tests. the first thing you should do is to get a good water testing kit. from there your water quality will tell you when you need to do water changes. your ammonia and nitrite reading should always be zero and your nitrates should be below 40 ppm. the size of your tank and number of fish and amount of filtration will also affect the frequency of your water changes.if you post your water readings tank size and kind of filtration i'm sure you'll get the info your looking for.

luck to you with your new additions

Good water qualioty is as important as good diet to keep your Oscars healthy, so don't just concentrate on feeding but also on water changes, oscars r only as healthy as the water they swim in. i would suggest 50% water change every week. if your osacrs r baby they will start swimming within minutes, but larger oscars take more time to adjust.

oscar are know or there sulking abillity. this is probably why there not eating right now. just keep feeding them regularly and remove the uneaten food after three mins and eventually they will eat. an oscar can go about 5 days without food before it begins to be a prob so just hang tight for now and keep monitoring the situation.

also check your water parameters to make sure things are good.

I would makes sure you filters get cleaned every 6 weeks. If you 2 filters clean one every 3 weeks. Clean them in old tank water not tap water

As said get a test kit (not the strip ones). Test your water before you do a water change. Ideally nitrates should be below 20 but below 40 is ok. If the nitrate are above 40 then you need to do bigger/more water changes. Your results for ammonia and nitrite should be zero, if they are anything but zero your either dont have enough filtration or you are not cleaning them enough. I am assuming you have cycled your tank - have you cycled the tank

Only feed what they will eat in 2 or 3 mins. Twice a day until they are 3 or 4 inches then once a day

You will need to get a bigger tank asap, at least 75g for 2 oscars but 100g would be better
