Cloudy eyes are usually caused by poor water quality

Oscars can live in a wide variety of Ph. A Ph of 6 is at the lowest level. Test the Ph of your tap water and if it is higher than 6 then you need to find out what is causing it to decrease. If your tap Ph is 6 then i would suggest you get a product that will raise the Ph (up to 6.5 will do)

The more likely cause is either you have some nitrites or more likely too high nitrates. Try to test for both these. In the meantime do some more large water changes to bring nitrates down and add some anti-bacterial to help the eyes heal

If you are going to change the Ph do it slowly, very slowly. Say no more than 0.2 (up in your case) at a time then leave it a week before doing another 0.2

As you cant get a nitrite or nitrate tester it makes things difficult as we cant be sure on the cause. However i really do suspect your nitrates are too high seeing as your fish is in a small tank (for oscars). What i would suggest is daily water changes of 20% and dont feed too much. You should be feeding once a day and only what he will eat in 2 or 3 mins. What i would feed until the eyes heal up is half this

Any anti-bacterial treatment for fish will do, i use myxazin. The only place to get this will be the same place as the water testers. It isnt necessary to cure the fish but it will help

If you carry on as normal there is a chance the fish will die

Have you considered getting the nitrite, nitrate testers and some anti-bacterial treatment from the net, there are many sites/shops that will post!!!!

You need to get a bigger tank and pronto as your tank is way too small and your oscar will not be happy or healthy in a 29g, as you are finding out

Just follow the instructions. Keep doing it until the fish is cured. Remove any carbon in the filter as this will remove the medication

When you post the results can you tell us what water changes you have done and what proportion you have change. Keep doing daily water changes even after starting the anti-bacterial treatment but add it after the water change

I will repeat myself, you need to get a bigger tank ASAP or you will get continuous problems and your fish will die or end up stunted. Stunted fish dont grow to full size and live a shorter life than normal

MY Nitrate and Nitirte was 0, i havent done any water changes as of yet, the place i went to didnt carry th type of medicine you suggested so i got Primafix? is it instead they told me changing the Carbon out was optiona and to treat for a week and then do a 25% water change, im adjusting my PH slowly <3

Your nitrate can't be zero. It doesn't happen in a properly cycled tank. Especially not one as small as yours. You'll need to read the instructions very carefully on your testing package and try again. Also pimafix should help a wee bit. I would take the carbon out if i were you, once carbon reaches its saturation point it does more harm than good anyhow.

It is virtually impossible to get a nitrate reading of zero in a cycled tank, can you test again please

I think primafix is an anti-bacterial so it will do fine. Always remove carbon from the filter when adding medications otherwise it will remove them. When they say carbon is optional i think they are referring to a tank when not using medications and that is true, lots of people keep fish and dont use carbon. If has been suggested it may even contribute to HITH so if i was you i would remove the carbon and not put it back. Put some more biological media in the filter instead (the rock stuff)
