as i understand it an albino is a fish that lacks pigmentation. hence the white colour and pink eyes. where i run into some confusion is with an albino tiger. even though the fish is predominatly white does not the orange colouration denote not an albino since orange is a colour pigment but rather an amelanistic which lacks black pigment. or would it be classified as a tyrosinase-negative albinism since it would seem that only the black pigment is missing from the colour scheme? also does the catogory of leucistic only apply to the eye colour or any colour of pigmentation

if you are going to use albino in its true term then it should be a fish that is completely white with no colour at all. what most people would class as an Oscar albino that has colouration is really a Lutino Oscar. some of the books go into complicated detail which quite frankly bores me. Most people would class a white fish with a little bit of colouration as an albino, I have never seen a true albino Oscar, I think they would be quite rare. I've got a couple of albino Cory's and they are pure white.
