ok well i think my oscar is not normal

after having to live alone for a long time because she would beat up anything put in with her, i threw 3 neon's in her tank which a rescue turtle didnt eat, they have now been in there for about 6mths and i have also added 5 guppies which have now had baby's ........
maybe she got lonely by herself and decided eating her tank mates wasn't a good thing

my friends just think she is one weird oscar poor girl

Sometimes Oscars will ignore small fish in a tank. I have introduced smaller fish that will eventually get big into my Oscar tank and they have not been eaten.
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved

She did used to eat them and attack anything bigger , i have noticed though over the past year she doesnt really do much anymore , every now and than she has a burst of energy and ends up hurting herself from slamming into the glass and gravel.

Just recently i got some frogs spawn and they hatched into tadpoles. I then fed these to my fish. My bigger fish ignored the tadpoles (too small for them to bother with i am guessing) but the smaller fish loved them. So maybe your oscar now sees eating the guppy/neons as too small to be worth the effort

As for the tadpoles, I was hoping some would turn into little frogs to feed to the bigger fish but the tadpoles got to a certain size then they started dying off.

I shall not be doing it again as i felt too guilty when putting them in the tank
I can't get no sleep

for a while i had a black mollie in my oscar tank and he was ignored by the o's. unfortunetly he got sucked down the overflow and died but for a while he swam and ate with the oscars
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all
